What a lot is, and why we publish them
A lot is a single production run: one fill, on one date, from one batch of water and one batch of preservative. Everything in a lot shares a history, so a test result from a lot describes every vial in it — and describes nothing about any other lot.
That is the whole reason lot numbers exist. It is also why a supplier who shows you one certificate and leaves it on the website for two years is telling you very little: the document is true about a run that sold out long ago.
Every vial we ship carries its lot code on the label and on the carton. That code is the URL of its page here. If you are holding a vial, you can read its documentation without asking us for anything.
What each lot page shows
- The lot code and fill size — as printed on the label, so a vial in your hand matches a page on this site.
- Fill date and expiry — the dates that bound the shelf life stated in the specification.
- The test panel and its results — sterility, bacterial endotoxin, benzyl alcohol concentration and pH, each with the date it was tested.
- The certificate of analysis — the document itself, downloadable, not a summary of one.
Results are written in the past tense and tied to the lot and the test date: Lot 2608-A14 was tested for sterility on 12 August 2026. We do not write forward promises about lots that have not been filled or tested — see how we phrase results, and why.
Reading a lot page as a buyer
Most buyers who reach this page are doing one of three things, and each has a short answer.
- Qualifying a supplier. Check that documentation exists before you order, not after. That is what this index is for, and it is why it is public rather than sent on request.
- Filing documentation for a shipment you received. Find the lot code on your carton and open its page. The COA is on it.
- Checking an older lot. Nothing is removed here. A lot that sold through years ago keeps its page, because the people who bought it may need the paperwork long after the stock is gone.

Where do I find the lot number on what I received?
Printed on the vial label and again on the carton. It is the code in the format 2608-A14.
That code is also the last part of its address here, so a carton marked 2608-A14 has its documentation at bacwaterhub.com/lots/2608-A14. You can type it in rather than searching, and you do not have to contact anyone to see it.
Why does the lot library have no published results yet?
Because no lot has completed its panel and had the results supplied. The page exists first and the data lands into it.
Lot 2608-A14 is the code printed on the current label and carton artwork, so its page exists — and it is excluded from search until its results are real, rather than published with the fields empty. An index that is honestly empty is worth more than one populated with a certificate you cannot tie to stock you can buy. What the panel covers.
How long do lot pages stay up?
Indefinitely. Nothing is removed after a lot sells through.
The buyer who took the last carton of a lot may need its paperwork years after the stock is gone — for their own records, for a customer’s file, or for a question nobody has asked yet. A lot index pruned back to the current lot is a marketing page wearing an archive’s clothes. This one only grows.
Can I check a lot before I order?
That is what this index is for. Documentation is public rather than sent on request, so you can qualify us before you spend anything.
A supplier who will only show documentation after you have committed has arranged the order of events in their own favour. Read the panel and how results are phrased, check the specification and the price, and decide before you send anything.
Do private label runs get pages here?
A private label run is filled as a discrete lot with its own lot code and its own test record — your traceability is not pooled with stock production.
How that run’s documentation is published is a conversation we have with each partner, since a client’s run is their business rather than ours to announce. How private label works, or ask how your run would be handled.
